Shipping Policy
We ship across India from Gandhinagar. Glass and ceramic make up a good part of this catalogue, so the packing notes below matter.
How the timings work
Handling is 1-2 business days — from a confirmed order to the parcel leaving us. Transit is on top: 2-4 business days to a metro address and 4-8 business days elsewhere. Added together that gives 3-6 business days to a metro address and 5-10 business days elsewhere, which is the figure quoted everywhere on this site. Working days exclude Sundays and public holidays.
Packing
Glass containers and ceramic bakeware travel boxed with the pieces separated; cookware sets travel in the manufacturer carton. A rattling carton is the warning sign to look for before signing, because glass that has moved in transit has usually chipped.
On delivery day
- Look at the carton before you sign. If it is crushed, soaked or rattling, refuse it and tell us.
- Photograph the carton and the item if anything is wrong, before the packing goes in the bin.
- Report damage within 48 hours of delivery to orders@mahalaxmi.shop. We replace or refund.
Open and count a multi-piece set on the day it arrives. A missing lid noticed a fortnight later cannot be claimed from the carrier, and a lid is exactly the piece that goes missing.
Tax
Mahalaxmi Home Appliances is a small online retailer and is not registered for GST: turnover stays below the applicable registration threshold in India, so registration has not become compulsory. GST is therefore not charged separately on any order, and no GST tax invoice carrying a registration number can be issued. The figure printed beside an item is the whole amount payable.
Orders placed after 3:00 PM IST are picked up the next working day. We do not dispatch on days the shop is closed or on public holidays, and delivery windows are estimates rather than guaranteed dates.
